Raising Godly Children

It’s important to raise your children up in a Christian home. For the first few years of my children’s lives I didn’t take them to church but I still talked to them about the Bible and God. I didn’t take them to church because I was afraid of how they would act. I was scared. Would the baby start crying loudly or my toddler pitch a fit in the middle of the sermon. Would they be crawling under the benches or talking loudly. I thought all the other kids would be quite little angels and mine would be wild so I didn’t go for years. I finally got up the nerve to take them and see how they would do. Sitting there during the sermon the preachers child started acting up while he was preaching. I was surprised. I had in my mind that others kids would be perfect well behaved little grownups. But I realized that kids are kids. No one is going to look down on you if your kids cry’s or makes a sound. Now I don’t mean they should be running around like their at the playground. But they don’t have to act perfectly and no one expects them to. I was surprised how well my kids acted in church. Give them a chance to show you. My kids loved going to church too. It was great. I’m so glad I got up the nerve and took them. Raise your kids in church. There really is no excuse not to. It took me awhile to realize it. Proverbs 22:6 “Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.”

Mark 10:13-16 “And they were bringing children to him that he might touch them, and the disciples rebuked them. But when Jesus saw it, he was indignant and said to them, “Let the children come to me; do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of God. Truly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child shall not enter it.” And he took them in his arms and blessed them, laying his hands on them.
